Employees based in GB will be employed on a permanent remote working contract.

Your role in the team

At Allstate, Data & Intelligent Systems (D&IS) provide technology for Allstate's information strategy, which helps to drive a competitive advantage. This allows our users to tap into massive amounts of data to understand our consumers as well as enabling our business partners to make sound decisions, drive product innovation and improve customer experience.

D&IS bring innovation to data management through patented solutions for standardized data exchange, a scaled approach to data cataloging for data discoverability, and an internally developed data marketplace.

The Role:

We are searching for talented and technical engineers who can help design and develop our products. The successful candidate will collaborate within the team and across engineering teams within D&IS and the wider Allstate network to help maintain, implement, and deliver features.

The D&IS codes management system (CMS) has been modernized. Now known Reference Data Management. This innovative system, known as Data Standarization Suite is built upon a canonical modelling tool using technologies such as Java, React JS and SQL This is a very exciting time to join a team that is continuing to evolve and grow and will provide a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to both lead and influence.

As a talented engineer, you will:

• Perform enhancement, maintenance and support of the existing applications and services.
• Identify, design, and drive modernization.
• Influence automation and the remediation of our systems
• Prioritize and help co-ordinate the reduction of existing applications and services.
• Analyze existing codebases and SQL packages to drive performance improvements.
• Will have knowledge of CI/CD and Source Control Management, Git/GitHub, Jenkins and Octopus Deploy.
• Experience working within Agile methodologies

So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

• All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
• A minimum of 3 years IT experience; and
• A minimum of 2 years’ Java Springboot development experience; and
  Strong UI skills using one of the major JavaScript frameworks like ReactJS; and
• Experience of SOAP and REST services;

We also have some desirable criteria

• Experience in Design and Implementing REST Services, Integration messaging systems like JMS MQ, Kafka etc.
• Experience in writing SQL queries and stored procedures
• Experience of Cloud platform and deployments
• Exposure to test driven development and writing JUnits, Integration Tests
• Working knowledge of backend database integration, JMS, Web Services
